PM under pressure to boycott CHOGM after Sri Lankan video release

With the release of the Britian video where Tamil Tiger report broadcaster and vocalist Isaipriya alias Shoba was slain by the Sri Lankan army men, political parties in Tamil Nadu are powerfully disputing against Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's participation in the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Colombo on November 15.

The video taken by Channel 4 documentary and the disturbing images from it verify that Isaipriya was not slain in battle, but in freezing body-fluid by the Sri Lankan army.

The Prime Ministers of Australia and Britain are also under force to boycott the CHOGM gathering to put force on the Mahinda Rajapaksa regime for human privileges violations.

In India, the government itself is divide with ministers from Tamil Nadu, investment Minister P. Chidambaram and boats Minister G.K. Vasan, asking the major Minister to boycott the rendezvous. The Tamil Nadu Assembly has unanimously passed a tenacity urging the Centre to boycott the meeting. DMK head M. Karunanidhi has warned the Centre of penalties.

The Sri Lankan government has consistently denied perpetrating any conflict atrocities. although, lately the UN Human Rights Commissioner Navi Pillay had slammed Sri Lanka in her report after travelling to the war-torn northern zone.

Media states that it is in this backdrop that the Sri Lankan government is attempting an likeness makeover by conducting the CHOGM. However, Indian Tamil parties are farther enraged with the release of this video.

DMK, other Tamil parties and even the localized Congress have voiced vociferous opposition to the PM's participation in the CHOGM. Causes state even P. Chidambaram is against Manmohan's attendance.
